MLPS Introduces Mobile Logistics to Improve Emergency Response
Middlesex-London Paramedic Service (MLPS) introduced the Mobile Logistics initiative in a presentation to the Committee of the Whole. Through this new program, trained logistics technicians will use electric vehicles to re-stock supplies, perform minor repairs, and troubleshoot issues in the field, reducing ambulance downtime and improving emergency response. This initiative will also lower costs, support sustainability, and enhance regulatory compliance. The trial launch was set for February 5, 2025, in Strathroy, Lucan, Parkhill, Glencoe, and Komoka, operating seven days a week from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For more information, see the Mobile Logistics Presentation.
Proposed Subdivision development to create 54 residential lots in Mt. Brydges
The Committee of the Whole recommended draft plan approval for a proposed 10.3-hectare subdivision within Mt. Brydges, subject to conditions. The development, known as Westdell Edgewood North, which was recently supported by the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, would create 54 single detached lots on full municipal services and two natural heritage blocks. For more information, see the February 11, 2025, Agenda.
Middlesex County Explores Renewable Energy for New Administration Building
The Committee of the Whole reviewed progress of the new Middlesex County Governance & Administration Centre, which will be built alongside the Middlesex-London Paramedic Services headquarters to create a centralized campus for County operations. To explore further energy efficiencies, the Committee approved engaging a consultant to assess options for solar power generation, such as rooftop panels, ground-mounted arrays, or parking lot coverage. This study will inform a funding application and could be implemented alongside the building’s construction. For more information, see the staff report.
Recommendations made by the Committee of the Whole at the February 11, 2025 meeting will be considered by County Council at its next regular meeting on March 11, 2025. The Legislative Services Department maintains the official record for all County government proceedings.
