Middlesex County's 2025 Budget Moves Forward

County Council directed staff to bring forward a by-law to adopt the 2025 Budget at the March 25, 2025, meeting of County Council. The Budget presented reaffirms the County’s commitment to fiscal accountability while addressing key community needs. Middlesex County Welcomes Cambodian Delegation for PMI-WILL Exchange

The Committee of the Whole received a presentation on Middlesex County’s involvement in the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Partnerships for Municipal Innovation – Women in Local Leadership (PMI-WILL) project. Council and staff welcomed a delegation of Cambodian local government officials from February 24-27, 2025. The delegation participated in a three-day exchange focused on breaking down barriers to women’s participation in public life and improving access to municipal services. Highlights included a Women in Leadership Panel, tours of key facilities like Middlesex-London Paramedic Services Headquarters, and discussions on inclusive governance, economic development, and public health. The exchange highlighted the shared challenges faced by women in leadership worldwide, fostering learning and collaboration that will support inclusive governance efforts both in Cambodia and Middlesex County. Check out the PMI-WILL Presentation for more information.

Social Services Update Highlights Key Programs

The Committee of the Whole received an annual update on Middlesex County Social Services, providing an overview of key initiatives and ongoing efforts to support residents. Highlights included efforts to expand access to licensed childcare, with new centres planned and initiatives underway to make care more affordable for families. Ontario Works is strengthening support for individuals through improved digital services, employment assistance, and specialized staff training. Homelessness Prevention also remains a priority, with strengthened partnerships, expanded housing supports, and community outreach programs aimed at increasing stability for those facing housing insecurity.
