Middlesex County launches new app for transit riders

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, August 4, 2023 - Middlesex County is pleased to announce the launch of our new rider app for Middlesex County Connect, our inter-community transit service. Powered by a Canadian transit software developer, Blaise Transit, this mobile application will significantly enhance the convenience and accessibility of our bus services.

“The free app brings a new level of ease and efficiency to our riders' experience. It offers a host of user-friendly features that cater to the modern traveler's needs,” said Cindy Howard, General Manager of Finance and Community Services. “Riders can conveniently pre-book their trips, choose from a variety of payment methods, track the real-time location of their bus, and receive timely notifications directly to their mobile device. Gone are the days of fumbling for cash, as the app allows for seamless electronic payments.”

“We anticipate that the introduction of the app will boost ridership on Middlesex County Connect buses. By providing an efficient and modern solution for booking and payment, we aim to attract more passengers and enhance their overall experience with our services,” said Anum Maqsood, Community Transportation Project Manager. “Moreover, the app will serve as a valuable tool for service improvement. By collecting data on travel patterns, peak usage times, and other vital information, we will be able to optimize our operations and customize our services to better meet the needs of our riders.”

Even those without access to a mobile device can book trips online using the web app at ride.blaisetransit.com or by calling our call center at 1-888-465-0783. Riders without a smartphone or computer can continue to simply arrive at a Middlesex County Connect bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time and pay on board.

“Middlesex County is committed to staying at the forefront of innovation in public transportation. The launch of the Middlesex County Connect app is a testament to our dedication to providing state-of-the-art services that make travelling in and around Middlesex County easier and more enjoyable for everyone,” said Cara Finn, Director of Economic Development.
