September 5, 2024 - The Middlesex-London Paramedic Services (MLPS) Authority Board is excited to announce the appointment of Adam Bennett as the new Director of Paramedic Services, following an extensive national search. Adam Bennett, who has been serving as the Interim Chief, brings over 24 years of dedicated service with MLPS and a wealth of experience in leadership, operations, and community engagement.

Adam's appointment marks a new chapter for MLPS, one that will emphasize a culture of support, and continuous improvement. Under Adam's leadership, MLPS has already initiated several strategic initiatives, including the introduction of a new Deployment and Utilization Strategy, and the enhancement of the Community Paramedicine programs. His proven ability to lead and implement effective changes will be instrumental in advancing the operational excellence of MLPS.

"We are confident that Adam Bennett's vision and commitment to excellence will drive MLPS forward, ensuring that we continue to provide high-quality emergency response and care services to the Middlesex-London community," said Brian Ropp, Chair of the MLPS Authority Board. "Adam's leadership style aligns perfectly with our goal of fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for all MLPS staff."

Commenting on his appointment, Adam Bennett said,

"I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead the Middlesex-London Paramedic Services at such a pivotal time. My focus will be on building a culture of openness, transparency, and support, ensuring that every member of our team feels valued and empowered. Together, we will strive to deliver efficient and high-quality care that not only meets but surpasses the expectations of our community. Collaboration with our healthcare, community, and emergency services partners will be key as we contribute to the overall health and well-being of Middlesex-London."

OPSEU Local 147 President Andrew Swan commented "I would like to congratulate Adam Bennett on his appointment to the position of Director of Paramedic Services. It is my understanding that he was selected from a field of highly qualified and experienced candidates. There is a great deal of change on the horizon for this service. New programs are being developed, new technologies are being implemented, and the complexities of the healthcare system are always evolving. I am confident that Mr. Bennett’s experience as a front-line paramedic as well as his tenure as Deputy Chief will serve him well in navigating challenges present and future. We in the union hope to foster and maintain a productive and collaborative working relationship with Mr. Bennett and his team as he assumes his new station."

As MLPS embarks on this next phase of its evolution, we remain committed to focusing on key areas such as operational and employee service supports, organizational culture, and facilities enhancement. MLPS operates from 14 strategically located stations providing 24-hour pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency care to the residents and visitors of Middlesex County and the City of London. MLPS Headquarters, located at 1035 Adelaide Street South, London, Ontario oversees over 450 highly trained professionals including Paramedics, Supervisors, Logistics Technicians, Quality and Investigations Professionals, Management, Educational and Administrative Support Staff.
