Middlesex-London Paramedic Service innovates with employee wellness program

County Council heard from Middlesex-London Paramedic Service (MLPS) on its Early Clinical Intervention Support Program, aimed at enhancing mental wellness for paramedics and first responders facing high-stress situations. Established in 2023, the program focuses on identifying at-risk employees, providing timely psychological support within 24-48 hours of critical incidents, and conducting groundbreaking research in collaboration with Western University to assess the impact of early interventions. With a strong emphasis on resiliency training and positive feedback from participants, MLPS is committed to fostering a supportive culture for its frontline staff while continuously evaluating the program's effectiveness. Draft Plan Approval for Subdivision development in Komoka

Committee of the Whole considered a proposed residential plan of subdivision for a 0.95 hectare property within Komoka. The development, which was recently supported by the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, would create 8 lots for single detached dwellings. The Committee adopted a recommendation to approve the draft plan of subdivision, subject to conditions. For more information, see the October 8, 2024 Agenda.

Proposed Subdivision development to create more than 350 units in Strathroy

Committee of the Whole considered a proposed residential plan of subdivision for a 19 hectare property within Strathroy. The development, which was recently supported by the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, would create high density space for 226 condominium units and 2 medium density blocks for development for a estimated 137 townhouse units and 21 singles or semi-detached. The Committee adopted a recommendation to approve the draft plan of subdivision, subject to conditions. For more information, see the October 8, 2024 Agenda.

Recommendations made by the Committee of the Whole at the October 8, 2024 meeting will be considered by County Council at its next regular meeting on October 22, 2024. The Legislative Services Department maintains the official record for all County government proceedings.
