Middlesex County Warden's Statement on Remembrance Week 2024

"As Remembrance Week begins, I would like to invite all residents in Middlesex County to take time to reflect and remember those who have served and continue to serve our great nation.

This week is about honouring the fallen and paying tribute to the veterans and soldiers who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.

There are many ways to commemorate Remembrance week, whether it’s wearing a poppy, visiting a war memorial or reaching out to the soldiers and veterans in your life to say thank you. Already, I have seen many of our community members come together to show their gratitude through local initiatives like the Poppy Project in Strathroy-Caradoc.

At 11 a.m. on November 11th, I encourage you to pause and observe two minutes of silence in honour of those who died serving our Country. Services are taking place in local municipalities across Middlesex County and we encourage everyone to attend.

On behalf of Middlesex County, we remember all those who gave their lives to serve our Country and we send our heartfelt thanks to all of our veterans and soldiers who so bravely serve."
