Cathy Burghardt-Jesson - 2020 Warden
Bio
Warden Cathy Burghardt-Jesson is well known as a community champion, volunteer and ideal hockey fan. Acclaimed in 2018 to serve a second term as Mayor of the Township of Lucan Biddulph, Cathy entered local politics being elected as Deputy Mayor in 2010.
Cathy is the proud mother of four boys with her husband of twenty-five years, Kirk. When she is not tending to local and County Council matters, Cathy is actively serving the community in the roles of Chair of Lucan Baconfest (Middlesex County’s largest public festival), Chair of Lake Huron Primary Water Systems, Chair of the Annual Fire & Ice Fundraising Hockey Game, Member of the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service Authority Board, and as a member of the Western University Board of Governors.
Cathy has served as Chair of the Lucan Relay for Life, President of the Lucan Minor Hockey Association, Chair of the Logan Couture All Star Game and Chair of the Under 17 World Hockey Challenge - Lucan Site. In 2018, Cathy’s own love for hockey became contagious as the community rallied together and gained national attention while beating out the towns of High River, Alberta, Lafleche, Saskatchewan and Huntingdon, Quebec to become Kraft Hockeyville Canada; an accomplishment that resulted in the municipality receiving a $250,000 grant to upgrade its local facilities and hosting a NHL pre-season game.
Finally, Cathy has been a proud Middlesex County resident for over twenty-five years!
