MIDDLESEX COUNTY: on May 23, 2024, Warden Aina DeViet issued the following statement regarding Cardiac Survivor Day held at Fanshawe College hosted by Middlesex-London Paramedic Service.

Komoka Road (CR 16) will be closed for utility tie-ins between Glendon Drive and Thames Avenue. The closure will be from May 27 to May 29.

Adelaide Road (CR 81) will be closed for bridge repairs over the tracks between Century Drive and Falconbridge Drive. It will be closed from May 27 until August 20.

Middlesex County Administration will be closed Monday, May 20 for Victoria Day and will reopen Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Have a safe long weekend!

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, May 7, 2024 – the Township of Lucan Biddulph hosted the 75th annual 2024 Middlesex Municipal Day at the Lucan Biddulph Community Memorial Centre alongside Mayor of Lucan Biddulph, Cathy Burghardt-Jesson as the Master of Ceremony. The event was attended by over 100 delegates from the County of Middlesex, local municipalities, the Middlesex-London Paramedic Services, Middlesex-London Food Policy Council, and various community partners and businesses.

This year, Emergency Preparedness Week (EP Week) is on May 5-11, 2024 and the theme for this year is “Plan for every season” 

May 6-12, 2024 is Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Mental Health Week and this year’s theme is centered on the healing power of compassion. In a world plagued by suffering, we emphasize that kindness is equally intrinsic to our humanity. We all have the capacity to be compassionate, and we know that doing so can make an enormous difference.

On April 28th is National Day of Mourning to remember and honour those who have died, been injured, or suffered illness in the workplace. Canadian flags on Parliament Hill and at Queen's Park fly at half-mast on April 28th. The day is traditionally marked in many ways including holding public ceremonies, wearing black and yellow ribbons, lighting candles, observing a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m. and sharing stories about how workplace tragedies have touched peoples' lives.
